You'll get 30 minutes with 20 puppies, then 30 minutes in Cha & Zak's cat lounge with a barista coffee already waiting for you. No queue.
You will leave with puppy fur on your clothes and a cat asleep in the chair you were about to sit in.
How your 75 minutes runs
- 15 minutes upstairs. Short briefing, shoe covers on, and you order your coffee so it is made while you are with the puppies.
- 30 minutes in the puppy room. Twenty puppies, free roaming, our staff on the floor the whole time.
- 30 minutes in the cat lounge. Cha & Zak's resident cats and your drink served to you.
Held at Cha & Zak's Clubhouse, Unit 2/12 Rich St, Marrickville. Street parking nearby and a short walk to Marrickville Metro.
Arrival times are fixed and the rotation does not wait. Pick the time on your ticket, not the time you feel like turning up.
Every person attending needs their own ticket, adults and children alike. Children under 16 must be with an adult ticket holder, minimum one adult for every two children. Everyone signs a safety waiver, linked in your confirmation email.

No. This is cuddles only. Nothing to be good at, nothing to bring.
75 minutes end to end. A 15 minute briefing where you order your coffee, 30 minutes in the puppy room, then 30 minutes in the cat lounge with your drink.
No. Groups move through the two rooms on a fixed rotation, and the rooms are cleaned and the animals rested between each block. Your 30 minutes in each room is genuinely yours though, with only 15 other people in there.
Not on the day. This ticket is both. Cha & Zak's cat lounge takes its own bookings on other days.
Yes. You order it during the briefing and it is served to you in the cat lounge, so it is made while you are with the puppies rather than while you are waiting.
Yes. Everyone needs their own ticket including children, and children under 16 need an adult ticket holder with them, at least one adult per two children. We recommend 5 and over.
Whatever you are happy to get fur on. You will be sitting on the floor with the puppies. Shoe covers are provided and go on at the door.
Tickets are non-refundable but you can move to another session. It is $10 per ticket with 24 hours notice or more, $20 inside 24 hours, and free if you are moving to a different time on the same day.

Is there a puppy cafe in Sydney?
Sydney has no permanent puppy cafe, but Doga Sydney runs ticketed puppy sessions across the city most weekends, at Parramatta, Hurstville, Liverpool, Five Dock, Double Bay, Chatswood and Sydney CBD. Every session has at least 16 puppies in the room across 6 breeds, with staff on the floor the whole time. The Marrickville session is the only one that includes a cat lounge on the same ticket.
Is there a cat cafe in Sydney?
Yes. Cha & Zak's Clubhouse in Marrickville is a cat lounge, espresso bar and grooming studio in a converted warehouse in the Inner West. You book time in the lounge with the resident cats and order from the cafe while you are there. On Saturday 10 October they close the lounge to the public and run it with Doga Sydney as a combined puppy and cat experience.
What makes this different from other puppy cafes in Sydney?
Most puppy experiences bring two or three dogs and rotate a queue of people past them. Doga Sydney puts at least 16 puppies in the room, and 20 at Marrickville, across 6 breeds. Groups are capped at 16 people, so the ratio is closer to one puppy each than one puppy per table. You are on the floor with them for the full 30 minutes rather than waiting your turn.
What is the difference between puppy yoga and puppy cuddles?
Puppy yoga runs a yoga class while the puppies move freely around the room, and the yoga is optional the whole way through. Puppy cuddles removes the yoga completely, so the session is just time on the floor with the puppies. Doga Sydney runs puppy yoga at seven Sydney venues and puppy cuddles at Marrickville. Cuddles suits anyone who wants the puppies without a class attached.
How much does a cat cafe cost in Sydney?
Sydney cat lounges generally charge for time in the room with the cats, by the hour, with drinks bought separately at the counter. The Puppy Cuddles and Cat Lounge ticket at Marrickville is $85 and covers 30 minutes with 20 puppies, 30 minutes in the cat lounge, a barista coffee or matcha made for you, and a goodie bag to take home.
Can you just turn up and pat puppies in Sydney?
No. Every Doga Sydney session is ticketed and capped, because the number of people in the room is the thing that makes it work. Sessions are listed at dogasydney.com.au around eight weeks ahead and weekend times regularly sell out before the day. The Marrickville puppy and cat day runs 14 groups of 16 people, so there is no walk up entry.
What is there to do in Marrickville?
Marrickville is one of the Inner West's busiest food and drink strips, with breweries, Vietnamese restaurants, Marrickville Metro and a heavy weekend market trade. Cha & Zak's Clubhouse on Rich St adds a cat lounge and specialty coffee in a converted marble warehouse. On 10 October it hosts Sydney's first combined puppy and cat experience, a short walk from the Metro.
Is a puppy cafe a good date idea in Sydney?
It works well as one. The session runs 75 minutes, there is coffee included, and neither of you has to carry the conversation for the first half hour because 20 puppies are doing it for you. Tickets are per person so you each need your own. Marrickville has plenty of food and drink within a few minutes walk for afterwards.
Are there animal experiences in Sydney for kids?
Yes. Children are welcome at Doga Sydney sessions and need their own ticket, with at least one adult ticket holder for every two children. We recommend ages 5 and up. Sessions run right through the school holidays, and the Marrickville puppy and cat day on Saturday 10 October falls inside the NSW spring break.
How are the puppies and cats looked after during the day?
Both rooms clear for 15 minutes between every group, so the animals get a break and the space is wiped down. Groups are capped at 16 people so the room never gets loud or crowded, and staff are on the floor for the whole session watching how the puppies are coping. The day finishes at 6pm rather than running into the evening, because that is when the puppies stop enjoying it.
Where do the puppies come from?
Doga Sydney works with a small group of breeders it knows personally, and the same puppies travel to sessions together rather than being sourced session by session. Puppies are not sold or rehomed at sessions and we do not pass on breeder contacts on the day. If you are genuinely looking for a puppy, email the team and someone will talk it through with you properly.
Can you book a puppy experience for a birthday or a work event?
Yes. Doga Sydney runs private sessions separately from the public ones, either at its own studios or at your venue. Studio birthday packages start from $2,400 plus GST and corporate events from $2,900 plus GST. For a small group, buying tickets to a public session is usually simpler and cheaper. Private bookings are arranged by email with the team.
Do you need to book puppy yoga in advance?
Yes. Dates go up at dogasydney.com.au roughly eight weeks ahead and the popular venues and times go well before the day. Tickets are non refundable but can be moved to another session for a fee, and moving to a different time on the same day at the same venue is free. The Marrickville puppy and cat day has 224 tickets across the whole Saturday.
